Boston City Campus and Business College, one of South Africa’s leading tertiary education institutions, has eclipsed the 50 000 fan milestone on its Facebook page. This comes just two years after the college created its official Facebook presence.

Boston opened its doors 21 years ago with the intention of better equipping Unisa students to succeed in their examinations. The institution offers over 80 different career study options, has grown to over 40 colleges nationwide, and provides 20 000 learners with quality tertiary education and training.

Says Frankie Coda, Head of Online Marketing at Boston: “Given our strong focus on the youth market, a strong social media presence is an essential part of our communications strategy. When we first started our Facebook page in June 2010, we never anticipated that it would grow so fast.

“Thank you to all the students, graduates, teachers and other fans who have helped us hit this milestone. We’re expected to reach the 100 000 mark in double-quick time now and we’re planning a special surprise for our fans when we do, so watch this space.”
