Currin't Events once again executed a first-class event for the 2010 Annual Report Awards, held at the Sandton Sun, Thursday 4 November. Group Five claimed the major prize, being the Overall Winner of the awards hosted by Chartered Secretaries Southern Africa and JSE Limited. These are the longest standing awards of this kind in southern Africa, and are the only awards that measure the full report based on internationally recognised reporting standards, integrated reporting, triple bottom line reporting and also human capital reporting.

The event was attended by executives from many of the top 40 listed companies on the JSE, as well as major non-listed companies and parastatals, and the keynote address was given by Russell Loubser, CEO of the JSE Limited.

Being the fifth year it has organised the event, Currin't Events continues to bring a fresh approach each year to the entry format, as well as the gala banquet award ceremony. Graphic designs of the entry forms was given a lift by bringing the design up to date with modern styling, which was carried through to the certificates and trophies handed out on the night. The decor in the room was kept simple, with the use of cream and black with King Proteas being the basis of the centrepieces adding a touch of colour.

An extra touch of class to the event was MC/comedian Krijay Govender, who delighted guests with her sharp wit and very professional handling of the proceedings. In its choice of entertainment, Currin't Events brought in the perennial favourites Cathy del Mei on saxophone and Elena Zlatnova on violin.
