OpenWeb has slashed the prices of its Bonded ADSL solutions by up to 50%. This decision forms part of OpenWeb's strategy to reduce broadband costs and to align itself with government's promise to achieve 100% broadband penetration by 2020.
Bonded ADSL is a solution that combines the speed of up to four ADSL lines into one superfast ADSL pipe. OpenWeb has launched its new 30GB and 50GB Bonded ADSL packages, available between R999 for 30GB Bonded (two lines) and R2 099 for 50GB Bonded (four lines).
OpenWeb CEO Keoma Wright says OpenWeb is passing the savings onto its clients. “Bonded ADSL has finally become affordable and ADSL is still the best option for broadband connectivity in terms of speed and consistency.”
With numerous new undersea cables coming online over the next 18 months, many more people will have access to broadband, and certainly at lower prices. The Seacom cable increased the country's broadband capacity considerably and the new 14 000 kilometre West Africa Cable System (Wacs), that is being launched within the next month, will see further reductions in broadband rates.
“Unlike our competitors, OpenWeb now offers a month-to-month Bonded ADSL solution with speeds of up to 16Mbps and without any ridiculous contracts,” he concludes.
