20:13 The Beginning - a project launched by the Market Theatre in association with Goliath & Goliath and Sifiso Nene - is a brand new stand-up comedy event following on the success of the Music and Comedy Extravaganza over the festive season at the Market Theatre. This will be Mzansi Local Slam Comedy's version of the Def Jam Stand-up Comedy. Through the night, there will be a DJ playing music in between the comedy sets and an MC. The first half of the evening will feature an up-and-coming comedian followed by an industry stalwart.

20:13 The Beginning will see many comedians sharing the stage for the first time and will offer painfully funny comedians from a wide range of backgrounds, experience, styles and techniques. Each show will be different and coupled with unique Mzansilicious flavour with the hottest beats!

Confirmed to perform during the two weeks of comedy are the likes of Chris Forrest, Tumi Morake, Stig, John Vlismas, Tol A$$ Mo, Skhumba, Eureka Nkese, Kedibone Mulaudzi, Mashabela and many more.

20:13 The Beginning aims to entertain and further encourage local audiences to keep supporting home-grown talent.

In case you're wondering, we aren't related. Not even by blood or philandering father. We just happen to share the same surname. The Goliath thing does make more sense with Jason though because, well, he's fat. We all know the good old-fashioned formula of having a comedian or MC in a bow tie hosting corporate events. But (and it's a pretty big butt because of Jason) nobody has ever done a dual act. Two hosts who effortlessly bounce between comedy and MCing. That's what Goliath & Goliath offers.
