MTN South Africa has revamped its Internet offering by introducing several new, innovative and cost-effective packages, designed to address the varied connectivity requirements of the South African consumer - across prepaid, contract and hybrid.

"The solutions that MTN is bringing to the market today enable customers of any type and budget to make the most out of their feature-phone, smartphone or tablet. The focus is on getting the most out of the connected experience, and not worrying about bits and bytes. Connectivity is about staying in touch with family and friends, and conducting your business on the go," says Brian Gouldie, Chief Marketing Officer of MTN South Africa.

The revamped offerings (available with immediate effect, 1 May 2014) include MTN Internet Explore (at a cost of R10), MTN Chat (R15), MTN Social Networking (R19), MTN Smartphone Lite (R29) and MTN Smartphone Plus (R39).

"The services are designed to enable world-class chat, social and browsing experiences at an affordable price," says Gouldie. All services include free access to Twitter (until 31 July 2014) as well as free access to the Wikipedia online encyclopaedia via the Opera Mini browser - a partnership that helps make connectivity more affordable through enhanced compression.

The new services provide MTN PayAsYouGo subscribers with a calendar month of validity, while TopUp, MyMTNChoice and Contract customers will receive access for one billing cycle.

All a customer needs to do to purchase one of the new services is dial *141*2*477#.
