MTN first to market with Nokia N8
MTN South Africa is further strengthening the range of smartphones it is offering its subscribers by becoming the first operator in South Africa to release the Nokia N8 to market.
“We have taken a deliberate device strategy to focus on handsets that matter most to our customers. To this end, we have made the iconic Nokia N8 available. As of yesterday, MTN customers can purchase this iconic device from selected MTN retail stores,” says Serame Taukobong, chief marketing officer at MTN South Africa.
The Nokia N8 features a 12-megapixel camera for capturing stunning photos and 720p high definition video. And with Carl Zeiss optics and the Xenon flash users can take great pictures, even in low-light conditions. This touchscreen mobile phone also has a beautiful 3.5-inch OLED display for viewing those masterpieces.
“The smartphones we have introduced to date on our network, including the Apple iPhone 4 and the BlackBerry Torch, are underpinned by the significant investment we have made in our network to ensure that it meets the exacting bandwidth demands of these smart devices,” continues Taukobong.
With the Nokia N8 and the other smart devices, MTN is ensuring that it offers its customers both new and relevant products that complement their unique lifestyles and requirements.
“We also encourage our loyal subscribers to RICA their SIM cards to comply with government regulations. Our subscribers can register at any Y'ello Store and simply need to bring their ID book and proof of residential address to complete the process. Registration is free of charge and very quick to do,” concludes Taukobong.
