Rosebank College, an educational brand of the Independent Institute of Education (The IIE) officially opened the doors to its newly built campus in Polokwane.

The digitally enabled campus offers an innovative and student-centric learning approach - a first of its kind in Polokwane. Fitted with top of the range WiFi technology while promoting a collaborative learning environment, this is a hi-tech campus with extended hours to accommodate its students.

The high profile opening ceremony held at the campus located at 54 Church Street Polokwane, was attended by Roy Douglas, Advtech CEO; Christopher Boulle, Chairman of the Advtech Board; Greg Fillmore, Rosebank College Managing Director, employees of The Independent Institute of Education (The IIE) and media.

Speaking to those in attendance Douglas expressed the group's plans to offer affordable, quality education to all South Africans, while using the very best of teaching and learning practices to do so.

"The new digitally enabled campus allows us to use sophisticated technology and Learning Management platforms to provide the very best of learning experiences to people in areas outside the main metropolitan areas. This new approach allows us to make the best use of quality lecturers while combining that with high quality learning material in an innovative and stimulating way for students to learn," said Douglas.

"This is a first campus of its kind for the Advtech Group, and more specifically Rosebank College. This move shows confidence in the City of Polokwane and the Limpopo region," said Greg Fillmore, Managing Director of Rosebank College. "We are excited about this new chapter for our brand and look forward to welcoming all our new students who will embark on this new journey with us."

IIE accredited degrees, diplomas and higher certificates will be offered at the campus.

A digitally enabled campus provides the very best of an educational learning experience. It combines the value of a face to face lecturer and classroom environment coupled with access to online learning material and assignments which utilise the best methods of instructional design to ensure that the students learning process is most stimulating and effective. All of this is achieved in an exciting and modern campus environment while the student has the option of being able to access material and interact with lecturers and/or fellow students on-line and from any location they choose.

High speed Internet connectivity, laptops and tablets within a WiFi enabled campus offer the perfect setting for exploration into a wider world that aids learning and experimentation.

All learning activities are relevant, innovative and responsive. Students are also encouraged to explore new avenues beyond the classroom to acquire a meaningful interpretation of what they learn within their WiFi enabled campus.

The campus will officially welcome students when the tertiary institution opens its doors on 29 February 2016.
