First graduating class: Rosebank College Polokwane

In 2016 Rosebank College, an educational brand of The Independent Institute of Education (The IIE), opened its doors to its first digitally enabled campus in Polokwane. The connected campus, as it's also called, celebrated the first graduating class on Friday 26 May 2017. These learners made history as the first graduating class of Rosebank College Polokwane.
"This was a ground-breaking ceremony, following on the heels of a new vibrant, innovative blended teaching and learning model within the entire IIE," says Sylvester Mackaukau, Campus Principal of the Polokwane Connected Campus.
The digitally enabled campus offers an innovative and student-centric learning approach - a first of its kind in Polokwane. Fitted with top of the range WiFi technology while promoting a collaborative learning environment, this is a hi-tech campus with extended hours to accommodate its students.
"We are happy about this event as it gives us the opportunity to showcase end results of our efforts for the first year of our operation. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our graduates for the dedication, commitment and perseverance that has led to the fulfilment of your qualification requirements and completion of your programme," adds Mackaukau.
Seventy students graduated on the day, also present at the ceremony was Delvin Munsamy, General Manager of Connected Campuses.
Rosebank College prides itself in preparing graduates for the world of work. "Various programmes have been designed to assist students prepare for the world of work which among others include work integrated learning, work readiness programme, various workshops, excursions, and guest speakers," adds Mackaukau. Rosebank College's graduate placement programme also assists graduates in securing employment.
"We are proud to release our successful graduates who we are confident will make a difference to the industry, economy, community, and country and even the world at large. The academic journey leading to this memorable occasion was not without challenges, but they managed to overcome these challenges and accomplish this desired end result," says Mackaukau.
