Rosebank College, an educational brand of the Independent Institute of Education (The IIE) is excited to announce the opening of its first Connected Campus in Bloemfontein and the third of its kind in South Africa.

"Rosebank College is the first IIE brand in the Free State. Our decision to open a Connected Campus in Bloemfontein is an indication of the confidence, growth and stability we have in the future of the province, and we are looking forward to opening our doors in the 2018 academic year," says Greg Fillmore, Managing Director of Rosebank College.

This new campus has the capacity to run quality IIE programmes to over 1 200 students across several faculties. However, further growth in student numbers is expected as the brand expands in the city.

The IIE recognises that higher education has a responsibility to support the growing trend toward digital learning in order to serve a highly connected student population. With this is mind, its Connected Campuses include a blended learning model harnessing all the capabilities and advantages of using technology to achieve a tertiary qualification.

"Our Bloemfontein Campus will run IIE Higher Certificates, Diplomas and Degrees to registered students across several faculties," says Fillmore.

Facilities on the campus will include a cyber-centre, a student library and technology-enhanced classrooms as well as student work areas where students can gather in an environment conducive to academic success. As with any IIE Rosebank College Campus, the Connected Campuses will offer all the services expected of a campus of this calibre including qualified lecturers, free WiFi access once on campus and numerous digital platforms to excel academically.

An exciting student life is also available to its students, driven by a student elected Student Council with a dedicated Student Relationship Manager who assists students with their transition into tertiary life. That's not all. Once its students graduate they will automatically be included into the Graduate Empowerment Programme (GEP). The GEP was initiated in 2012 as a means to address graduate unemployment in South Africa. Through career coaching sessions, IIE graduates are taught to effectively apply and interview for employment thus empowering graduates with the tools they need to increase their chances of securing employment. To date over 7 100 IIE graduates have been placed in employment.
