Live the Dream Rosebank College Braamfontein Campus winner announced
Rosebank College Braamfontein Mega Campus, an educational brand of the Independent Institute of Education (The IIE), announced its winner of the Live the Dream competition at a jovial event attended by competition winners and ADVTECH staff.
A total of 4 524 students from all the Rosebank College campuses entered the competition, and Modisaotsile Kekana was selected as the lucky winner for Braamfontein Campus. Kekana is a first-year student.
"Modisaotsile passed with exceptional marks and he was going to apply for a degree, but because of funds he had to choose a one-year certificate," says his father Humphrey Mokoena.
Due to restructuring at his place of employment, he had to take a salary cut and that left him in financial difficulty.
"Despite the various financial challenges, I was happy that Modisaotsile was going to go to school and study because I want him to be in a better position as me, I want to break the cycle," his father added.
"Hearing the news to me was like a miracle. I am relieved that I will now have to worry only about paying his sister's fees, who is also enrolled at Rosebank College. I would like to say thank you."
The Live the Dream competition was opened to all prospective students who have been interviewed and have registered to study at any of the Rosebank College campuses. Entries were open from 14 September 2015 to 28 February 2016.
As a winner, Kekana will receive all of the below at the end of the 2016 registration cycle:
* A full tuition bursary to the value of R25 000 to study at Rosebank College in 2016.* A cellphone to the value of R5 000.* Air time to the value of R2 000.* A R4 000 wardrobe makeover voucher.* Movie tickets to the value of R1 000.
Kekana was chosen through a lucky draw that took place on 8 March 2016, at Rosebank College National Office.
