UKZN introduces new architecture post-graduate degree programmes

Issued by University of KwaZulu-Natal
Johannesburg, Mar 15, 2021

As of the 2021 academic year, UKZN will be offering a one-year master’s degree in architecture for applicants who hold a Bachelor of Architecture degree or a post-graduate Diploma in Architecture.

A two-year, part-time master’s degree is also offered to applicants who hold a Bachelor of Architectural Technology or Architectural Studies degree, with five to 10 years' practical experience. These applicants may enrol in the master’s degree programme via rule GR7, which is based on prior learning and allows for bridging modules in research methodology, history and theory.

Students currently registered for the two-year master’s programme have until 2022 to complete their degree.

The university is currently awaiting approval for the new Bachelor of Architecture honour's degree from the Department of Higher Education and Training. We anticipate that this programme will be approved in time for the 2022 academic year.
