SA's technology news leader, ITWeb, has started an enterprise development initiative aimed at helping businesses to speed up their development, sustainability and financial independence, by donating R60 000 worth of advertising to five growing enterprises.

Introduced by ITWeb's empowerment advisor PFour, a partnership was struck with Raizcorp, Africa's only unfunded for-profit business incubator model, which provides full service business support programmes that guide entrepreneurs to profitability. Five entrepreneurs were selected from a list of 10 put forward.

"We were impressed with the skills and entrepreneurship displayed by these businesses, and hope our marketing advice and packages will help their businesses," says Robert Mace, ITWeb's sales director.

He adds that each business is allowed to spend its R60 000 in advertising on ITWeb's platforms, on either online, print or events, or a mixture of all three, and that ITWeb will help guide and support the businesses when selecting how to spend their budget. In addition, ITWeb's board of directors will be available to provide knowledge transfer and business management assistance.

"It is always a pleasure working with companies which are supporting the development of small businesses. This initiative from ITWeb is just another example of such commitment to growth within the small business sector, and we would like to challenge other businesses to follow suit," says Allon Raiz, CEO of Raizcorp.
