IT Personality, Visionary CIO finalists named

IT Personality of the Year Award, now in its 33rd year, is presented by the Computer Society of SA (CSSA), in association with ITWeb, the Gordon Institute of Business Science and Gartner Africa.

It recognises a person who has made an outstanding impact on the South African ICT industry and a significant contribution to the ICT profession.

Mark Levy, joint-CEO of Blue Label Telecom, won the IT Personality title in 2010. The previous year, the accolade went to Ivan Epstein, CEO of Softline, while the 2008 winner was Mardia van der Walt Korsten, CEO of T-Systems SA.

Patrick Monyeki, at the time CIO of De Beers Group, holds the title of Visionary CIO 2010, while the then head of Internet channels at Absa, Carl Louw, won in 2009.

The winners of this year's awards will be announced at the CSSA President's Awards Breakfast, in association with ITWeb, on 10 November, at the Hilton Sandton Hotel. For more info, go here.
