ITWeb has announced that Hans Hultgren, a world-renowned data warehousing, big data, blockchain and business intelligence (BI) educator, author, trainer, and advisor, will be presenting at the ITWeb Business Intelligence and Analytics Summit 2018.

Hultgren will be presenting on 'Data vault modelling for big data', and will give delegates insight into how some of the barriers to achieving data warehouse agility can be overcome using the data modelling approach.

He will examine the data vault modelling approach as a tool in creating an agile data warehouse, and dissect the premise behind data vault - unified decomposition. In addition, delegates will gain understanding into how a data warehouse can accept new attributes without re-engineering, how the data vault modelling pattern is also applicable to big data, cloud, virtual and streaming deployments. Finally, he will review and critique data vault models for best practice compliance and optimal performance.

Based in Stockholm, Hultgren works around the world, primarily in the Nordic region, EU, US, Canada and Australia. He is the president at Genesee Academy and principal at Top Of Minds. He recently published a data modelling book: Modelling the Agile Data Warehouse with Data Vault.

His specialties include information management and data modelling, ensemble modelling, data vault modelling, big data modelling, blockchain, agile data warehousing, education, e-learning, entrepreneurship and business development.

Hultgren was with the University of Denver for 20 years and now continues an education focus with hybrid course delivery including e-Learning components. He has also published a book 'Modelling the Agile Data Warehouse with Data Vault', which is available on Amazon Web sites.

"Hans Hultgren is one of the many top BI practitioners from SA and around the world we have brought in for this year's summit," says Angela Mace, CRM and events director of ITWeb. "The speakers' expertise and insight will give delegates a practical understanding of how their data can be put to work to benefit their businesses."

Not only will attendees be exposed to the latest trends in BI and analytics, a range of opinions and local case studies will be available, as well as several practical tools and techniques businesses need to ensure their future, she concludes.
