ITWeb is holding its annual Governance, Risk and Compliance Conference on 20 and 21 February, at The Forum, in Bryanston. The event is aimed at helping organisations manage the complex technological environment that they find themselves in today.

Governance, risk and compliance (GRC) has shifted from an overhead cost to a value driver, which drives business performance. It is no longer isolated to a few functions within the organisation; it is integrated into every aspect of the business.

There is no doubt that strong GRC processes translate into actual business results, in terms of reputation, and asset and brand protection.

"At the ITWeb Governance, Risk and Compliance Conference, we want to equip participants with the tools to navigate the changing business world, where digitisation is presenting companies with new risks and compliance measures," says Vineshia Petersen, senior conference producer at ITWeb.

[SIDEBAR]"It's important that IT GRC professionals know how to govern new and emerging technologies, because the IT function is no longer just a business enabler, but a key function that drives organisational competitiveness in the age of Industry 4.0."

She says for a successful GRC framework that can meet today's business and digital demands, there needs to be a paradigm shift within organisations.

"With this in mind, the theme for next year's event is 'Effective IT governance in the interconnected business world'. It will cover themes such as removing the siloed approach towards GRC, King IV, cloud, integrated approaches, third-party risks, POPI and GDPR, and much more."

Those attending the event will gain insight from industry experts, thought leaders and GRC practitioners on how to deal with the complexities of today's highly connected environments. There will also be networking opportunities, as well as workshops on 21 February, to enable delegates to grow their skills.
