Following a hugely successful debut in February 2011, the CA IT Management Symposium Africa is back.

Modelled on the best CA World international has to offer, South Africa's CA IT Management Symposium Africa will be presented at the Sandton Convention Centre, on 4 September, by CA Southern Africa and its partners, in collaboration with ITWeb.

Themed: "IT at the speed of business”, the conference and expo brings together high-level IT professionals for an update on global IT trends, strategies and technologies. The launch event attracted hundreds of local and international IT professionals for two days of talks, brainstorming and hands-on product exposure.

Based on delegates' positive feedback at the 2011 event, this year's event will deliver more of the same, with yet more international experts giving updates on global trends and experiences, as well as a bigger expo area and more third-party vendors participating.

While the conference and expo will cover all major IT disciplines, it will have a strong focus on the biggest issues facing IT today, says CA Southern Africa MD Gary Lawrence.

“The role of social media in enterprise applications is becoming a lot more topical at the moment - specifically, 'how do we actually utilise it in the enterprise space and how to effectively integrate it into the enterprise'. Cloud is also a major issue at the moment, so we will have a strong focus on cloud trends and technologies."

Andrea Lodolo, Operations manager and CTO of CA Southern Africa, says service virtualisation has emerged as a major focal point. “We believe this is probably one of the most revolutionary technologies delivering a major ROI to customers, he says. This, therefore, will also enjoy a spotlight at CA IT Management Symposium Africa.

CA will also unveil its latest innovations in this space at the event.

Lawrence says: “All the best aspects of the 2011 event will remain - the opportunity to network, get international insights and experience the newest solutions in the market.

“It's aimed at all large and medium-sized enterprises wanting to leverage IT to be more competitive,” he says.
