Unsung contributions of corporate SA
Investing in the Future awards and Drivers of Change awards 2012, brought to you by the Mail & Guardian and the Southern Africa Trust.
Does your organisation celebrate good corporate citizenship? If so, the Mail & Guardian would like to invite you enter its Investing in the Future awards and Drivers of Change awards 2012.
The Investing in the Future awards are designed to heighten public, government and business awareness about corporate social investment.
“When the awards were launched 24 years ago, corporate social investment was poorly understood... now it is broadly seen as part of the strategic core, and deserving of serious executive and board-level attention. We are pleased to have been part of that change. The challenge now is to ensure that the immense resources of the corporate sector are brought to bear in ways which generate sustainable change,” said M&G editor-in-chief Nic Dawes.
In conjunction with the Southern Africa Trust, the event incorporates the Drivers of Change awards.
These awards celebrate companies, individuals, civil society and government projects across southern Africa that impact the lives of people living in poverty, through the development and implementation of effective public policies and strategies.
“The Drivers of Change awards will scan the terrain of philanthropy to identify trends, showcase emerging practices and innovations, and craft a shared agenda to build social investment and philanthropy in a new context,” said Neville Gabriel, founding executive director of the Southern Africa Trust.
