MTN Eazi Recharge shows strong growth
MTN is proud to announce that its Eazi Recharge service has shown considerable organic growth within the South African market since its launch in 2009, making it one of the most popular alternative airtime delivery methods currently available.
The service, which allows users to purchase airtime via their handsets using compatible Visa/Mastercard credit or debit cards, now boasts a registered user base of almost 100 000 active participants, and is widely recognised as the first local offering of its kind.
In response to customer demand, MTN has launched a comprehensive Eazi Recharge promotion between 1 November 2011 and 16 January 2012, which will encourage additional MTN customers to utilise the service.
MTN Eazi Recharge offers users greater flexibility when purchasing airtime, while not limiting them to store and ATM-based transactions. MTN introduced this offering to the market as a reaction to demand for a new purchasing method, which eliminates the need for point of sale service.
Says Mapula Bodibe, General Manager, Consumer Segments: “MTN continually searches for new ways to deliver innovative products which respond to subscriber needs. Eazi Recharge is just one of the many offerings, which serve to make MTN Prepaid customer's airtime purchase experiences quick and hassle free.”
MTN Eazi Recharge now delivers a purchase delivery method, which is both dependable and trustworthy. It's a convenient and secure way of purchasing or transferring airtime as customers need to use their bank PIN to authenticate the transaction.
“Eazi Recharge is truly innovative service, which has become invaluable to many of our subscribers. This kind of advanced, ahead-of-the-curve product development demonstrates that MTN is a thought leader within the South African telecommunications environment, and places continual focus on what is most important - meeting customer needs at all times,” continues Bodibe.
“The continued development of Eazi Recharge is indicative of a strong demand for a credit and debit card based airtime purchasing service. We are looking forward to seeing strong growth in this area in future.”
