MTN South Africa will extend its Lowest International Call Rates promotion, which sees calls to key African, Asian, and European countries charged from as little as 75c per minute, as well as competitive rates to over 200 countries, to the end of February.

"MTN launched this promotion in September last year as a way to offer our customers some of the most affordable international call rates in the South African market. The positive response we received has led the company to extend the promotion for another month," says Brian Gouldie, the Chief Marketing Officer at MTN South Africa.

The Lowest International Call Rates promotion will provide customers wanting to talk to loved ones or for business purposes in more than 200 international calling destinations with the most value for their money. As a customer-centric organisation, MTN is happy to be able to provide them with a cost-effective way to stay in touch," says Gouldie.

MTN has segmented its international call rates into country brackets, offering the most relevant competitive rates for each destination. As such, calls to the following countries will be charged at the 75c per minute rate, namely China, India, France, the United States, Germany, and Nigeria, while calls to other countries such as Angola, Spain, New Zealand, Greece and Thailand will be charged at 99c.

MTN customers will be able to view the applicable call rate to their chosen destination by dialing *111*2# on their mobile device, or by visiting the MTN Web site on www.mtn.co.za.

Non-MTN customers can either purchase an MTN Starter Pack or port their existing number to the MTN network to start benefiting immediately from the promotion.
