MTN goes for gold
MTN has once again been recognised for its superior marketing and communications efforts by raking in no less than three Gold awards at this year's PRISM Awards event.
This year's PRISM Awards, held in the mother city, Cape Town, marked the 14th year of the event. Hosted each year by custodians the Public Relations Institute of South Africa (PRISA), the awards are touted as the industry event of the year for the communications and public relations industry.
The event put MTN in the spotlight for innovative marketing and communications efforts, with its PR campaigns around its iPhone 4 launch and Kelly Rowland promotion raking in the awards. The iPhone 4 campaign was awarded a Gold PRISM award of excellence, whereas the Kelly Rowland award received two Gold PRISM awards.
Says Serame Taukobong, Chief Marketing Officer at MTN SA: “We are very proud of the PRISM awards we received as it shows that we have the right mix of creative, marketing and communications activities in our marketing.”
“At MTN we live and breathe by the notion of putting our customer at the core of our campaigns, it is with this that we look forward to raising the bar throughout the year,” ends Taukobong.
More than 250 communications professionals attended the event in honour of the work done in the industry over the last year.
