NWU to collaborate with the University of Dar es Salaam

North-West University is set to collaborate with the University of Dar es Salaam based in Tanzania. This was confirmed during the visit last week from the 28 February until 03 March 2017 by two officials from the University of Dar es Salaam.

Dr Lulu Kaaya, the Director for Internationalisation and Prof John Machiwa, the Principal of the College of Agricultural Science and Fisheries Technology at the University of Dar es Salaam visited both the Potchestroom and the Mafikeng Campuses to discuss possible areas of collaboration. These discussion will culminate in a Memorandum of Understanding between the two Institutions.

Dr Miranda Mgijima, the Director for Internationalisation at the Mafikeng Campus - NWU had this to say about this possible collaboration:

"We are working towards a Memorandum of Understanding. We hope that the MOU will be signed by July 2017". The MOU is targeting key areas of mutual benefit to advance our academic missions".

"To internationalise a higher education institution is a process. As a start, the MOU will cover activities in the following Schools\Faculties: Faculty of Education and Training; School of Agricultural Sciences and the Department of Communication in the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences at the Mafikeng Campus as well as the School of Music at the Potchefstroom Campus," added Mgijima.
