Another former NWU Soccer Institute player selected for national team
Another former player of the North-West University's (NWU's) Soccer Institute, Boalefa Pule, was included in the national Bafana Bafana team.
The team took part in the African Nations Championship (Chan) qualifier against Botswana on 12 August.
Boalefa follows in the footsteps of Thabo Mnyamane and Luvolwethu Mpeta - also former players of the Soccer Institute - to play for the senior national team.
While at the Soccer Institute, he represented South Africa in both the national under-20 and under-23 squad, where he obtained 14 and five caps respectively. Boalefa was voted the best goalkeeper during the 2010 University Sport South Africa (USSA) soccer tournament, which the Soccer Institute won back-to-back in 2009 and 2010.
Boalefa was also part of the team that recently represented the country in the COSAFA Cup.
This goal-stopper is originally from Zeerust in the North West Province. He was the second player from the institute, after Andile Khumalo, to join a premier soccer league. He is presently with Amazulu FC, where he is on one-year loan from Supersport united FC.
Boalefa obtained a Sport Science Diploma from the NWU.
