Nursing lecturer receives Marilyn Lehana award
A lecturer in the Department of Nursing Science, Boitumelo Molato was honoured for winning the Provincial award and being a national finalist for the most prestigious award, the Marilyn Lehana award. This event took place on 29 May at Lehurutshe.
This award is named after one of the South African top nurses, Marilyn Lehana. It recognises the indispensable role of nurses in direct patient care and caring, which after all, is what the public expects from the professionals.
Molato attributed his achievement to hard work and team work within the Nursing Department.
"I am very excited to receive this prestigious award; I want to thank my colleagues who happened to be my former lecturers for their support and motivation," said Molato.
Dr Rakhudu, the Head of Nursing Department, had this to say: "Boitumelo made the Nursing Department and the University very proud by winning this award."
Molato won this award at national level for the first time in 2012. Let's hope he shines again this time around.
