Former North-West University Soccer Institute player, Thabo ''Scara'' Mnyamane, has been selected in the Shakes Mashaba 23 Bafana Bafana team to face Swaziland at Somhlolo Stadium, on 25 March, and Nigeria at Mbombela Stadium on 29 March.

Mnyanane is the second former Soccer Institute player to be selected for the national team, after Lavolwethu Mpete was named in Shakes Mashaba's team last year.

Mnyamane, who plies his trade with Premier Soccer League outfit AmaTuks, has already netted eight goals for his team this season. He was also awarded Man of the Match on several occasions, as well as player of the month for November-December 2014.

When asked about his selection, Mnyamane could not contain his excitement.

"I always knew my time would come. I want to thank coach Shakes Mashaba, and most importantly, God, for providing me with this opportunity."

Mnyamane graduated with a Sports Science Diploma at North-West University in 2013. He joined AmaTuks after being selected best player during the Inaugural Varsity Sports Football tournament in 2013.

Soccer Institute Manager Enock Llali had this to say about Mnyamane's selection to Bafana Bafana: "The university is very proud about Thabo's selection to the senior national team. It shows that we are doing something right. It will also serve as motivation for the current crop of players in the Soccer Institute."
