Faculty of Education and Training hosts research showcase

NWU Mafikeng Campus' Faculty of Education and Training hosted a research showcase on 13 November 2015 at Mmabatho Palms Hotel. The theme of the research showcase was "Dynamics in Education Research".

The main objective was to show research highlights and its future trajectories and to recognise outstanding research conducted both by staff and students in the Faculty.

The guest speaker was the Chief Executive Officer of Education Training and Development Programme (ETDP) Seta of South Africa, N Mxesi.

The event was preceded by a gala dinner for all researchers in the Faculty and was addressed by Linda Chisholm, who is a Professor in the Centre for Education Transformation at the University of Johannesburg.

In his address, Prof Eno Ebenso, Vice-Rector Research and Planning, said that as an academic you either publish or perish. He also gave the assurance that the Rectorate's Office supports all endeavours that deal with Research, Teaching and Learning and Community Development.

The Faculty of Education and Training Research showcase was attended by, among others, representative of the North West Department of Education and Training, Dr Shadrack Mvula; Campus Vice-Rector Teaching, Learning and Quality Assurance, Prof Lumkile Lalendle; and the Dean of the Faculty, Prof Dawid Gericke.
