Campus rector among Golden Key honorary membership recipients

On 27 May 2014 the Golden Key International Honour Society, Mafikeng Chapter, hosted its Annual 2014 new member's recognition ceremony. During this prestigious ceremony, that was held in the Great Hall, the society honoured the campus rector, Prof Maselesele, campus liaison officer, Mrs Lorna Bodlani and former international relations lecturer, who is now the director of parliamentary liaison officer and also a speech writer to the premier of the North West Province, Mr Rakgale Ngoako by awarding them with honorary membership.

This year Golden Key International Honour Society honorary membership award covered different fields of studies. According to the society's President in Mafikeng Chapter, Miriam Feagwi, individuals recipients are set to be pioneers who epitomise golden key's values of integrity, collaboration, innovation, respect, diversity, engagement and overall excellence un their chosen fields.

The theme for the event was blue and gold, however for the executive members, the theme was black and gold. More than 100 students were welcomed as new members to the society. The selection to Golden Key was based on what individuals have accomplished. They were also reminded that now they are the key holders, leaders and seekers of wisdom. In his words of welcome, Primary Chapter Advisor Mr Kagiso Ntshwe said Membership in Golden Key is a privilege and honour, which goes along with certain responsibilities.

"Be a person of good character, upholding high moral and ethical standards. Let your honesty and fairness guide you're every decision and excellence rule every action," said Ntshwe

In her key note address, the campus rector Prof Maselesele said it was humbling experienced to receive an honorary membership. Prof Maselesele said she was encouraged to see young leaders doing great job, reflecting on the service the Golden Key Society renders every Saturday to Letsatisng High School. She saluted the dean of students, Ricci van Rooyen, for his full support to ensure that the event runs smoothly. She also has invited golden minds, great minds to unite and work together as she strongly believes that leadership is about service to others as a selfless act not about power, but performance.
