In 2016 Rosebank College, an educational brand of The Independent Institute of Education (The IIE) opened its first Connected Campus in Polokwane - a flagship, digitally enabled campus offering a carefully planned blend of both classroom instruction and online learning activities.

Through the use of RCLearn, modules of the various IIE qualifications on offer are presented so that students can engage with real life examples, case studies and collaborative activities while they master the content and how it is applied in the world of work.

We spoke to three of the students studying at the campus to find out what they think about Rosebank College's first Connected Campus.

When I heard about the new Rosebank College Connected Campus that would be opening in Polokwane in 2016 I instantly knew that this was an institution that I would like to study at because of my love for technology and the World Wide Web.

Studying in a Connected Campus like Rosebank College is very interesting and beneficial. The campus delivers great service, the staff are professional and we are stretched to engage digitally with our studies. Not only that, the institution is affordable and the campus set-up is beautiful. Adjusting to the new method of learning was easy because we received great support from day one. We were workshopped on how everything works and were encouraged to do our best. I would recommend studying at this Connected Campus, it's a good investment as it offers affordable, quality education - a great investment for your future.

I feel very honoured to be amongst the first to study at Rosebank College's Connected Campus, because I have gained quality skills and knowledge that I know will benefit me greatly in the workplace.

Name: Thendo Magidi, (20) Qualification: IIE Higher Certificate in Human Resource Management Hometown: Polokwane, Madiba Park

I was pleasantly surprised when I saw an advertisement on a billboard advertising the new Rosebank College Connected Campus. I was coming straight out of high school and this was a totally new experience for me, I had to adjust but it didn't take long to get used to the way things are done. So far I feel I have gained a lot more experience and have learnt many new things. I am confident that I will get a job in no time because I have excellent lecturers, and I am learning so much every day.

Name: Hosana Khoza, (19) Qualification: IIE Bachelor of Business Administration Hometown: Phalaborwa

I had travelled to the University of Johannesburg and The University of North West but had returned back home because they had offered me programmes that I wasn't passionate about, while driving by Polokwane on our way home we saw the new Connected Campus and I registered right there on the spot. Studying at this Connected Campus is awesome. What I enjoy the most is the fact that most of our learning takes place online through the use of technology, this essentially means that I can be in a different province and still do my school work. I enjoy the flexibility and connectivity that the campus offers and the fact that we are exposed to so much technology better equips us for our future working environments. This is by far the best institution that I have ever seen!
