Traffic affected near Allandale Road Interchange

Issued by SANRAL
Johannesburg, Mar 9, 2016

Traffic on the N1 near the Allandale Road Interchange will be affected until 19 March. Although the construction of the new Bridal Veil Road Overpass Bridge south of the interchange is complete, the temporary timber walkways along each side of the bridge still have to be removed.

This removal work will be carried out at night - between 8pm and 5am - when there will be lane closures. All lanes will be operational during the weekdays, except on the weekends when these closures will again be implemented during daylight hours.

These will comprise specific slow lane or fast lane closures on individual north or south bound carriageways on the off- and on-ramps.

Motorists are warned to keep a look out for these lane restrictions during this period, to reduce speed and obey all traffic signs and instructions given by road marshals and traffic officers. Some delays are to be expected.

SANRAL apologises in advance for any inconvenience that may be caused and thanks road users for their understanding and co-operation.
