Teraco appoints business development manager for NAPAfrica

Teraco Data Environments, a South African provider of vendor neutral data centres, has announced the appointment of Michele McCann as business development manager for NAPAfrica, the newly launched free, national peering offering from Teraco. The appointment is effective from 1st May 2012.

“Michele brings with her a key understanding of the opportunities and challenges within the South Africa market as well as experience with diversification for a global market”, says Teraco Managing Director, Lex van Wyk. “Our business requires deep insight into peering, content and carrier aggregation, and Michele has substantial experience is this realm.”

Most recently, McCann served as Commercial Director at Arc Telecoms. Her role included development of new infrastructures focusing on delivering ISP products and services to the market. Prior to Arc Telecoms McCann worked at iBurst where she developed the iBurst Business unit.

“The recent growth and developments at Teraco are exciting and match the speed at which the industry and market are changing,” says McCann. “NAPAfrica

is a new concept in the South African market and ultimately aims to make peering simple. This is a challenging opportunity for me and I am thrilled to be part of the team making it happen.”

In her new role, McCann's key focus will be relationship development of new and existing Teraco carriers and content providers in order to grow future opportunities locally and internationally.
