Top achievers' bursaries

Vaal University of Technology (VUT) has set aside close to a million rand in study bursaries for top performing students who have achieved excellent results in matric. The bursary will be available to the students for the duration of their study period, provided they pass all the registered modules.

This is a way VUT recognises and appreciates excellent performance of students who enter the institution. VUT rewards top performance where it's due.

Top achievers will be identified and offered these bursaries as they register during the registration process. An assessment will be done to ensure students meet all the requirements.

VUT offers 14 lucrative bursaries to the first two categories, and six students will receive bursaries to the last category as follows:

1. Merit Award Bursary2. Sports Bursary3. Red Carpet

The first two bursary categories are available to 14 students who have scored between 80%-100% in their grade 12 examination results. They include top achievers and the sports champions, with verifiable references. The two bursary categories will be available for the duration of the study period, provided the student passes all the courses taken for the academic semester.

The last category is meant to assist students with registration fee and study facilities. This is available to the first six students to arrive at the VUT registration point with all the necessary documents.

The students must meet all the admission requirements for the course of their choice. To qualify for bursaries, all students must meet the set criteria. One hundred percent bursaries are available for students living with disabilities pursuing a diploma at VUT.

At the end of the registration process, the selection process to award the bursaries will commence, and later, the announcement will be made.
