VUT football champion scores VC's award

Phurre Chochi is a graduate who encapsulates what VUT Sport is all about. Now, his stellar efforts have won him the Vice-Chancellor's Award.

His sporting prowess started at a young age. Chochi took part in the Germany Adidas u/14 World Championships in 2006 with Orlando Pirates Development. In 2007 he took part in the Manchester United Nike Premier Cup.

He is not only a whizz on the field, however. His admirable academic achievements are as follows:

* Bachelor of Business Administration Degree which he received at the Midrand Graduate Institute, Magna Cum Laude in 2012;* A Certificate in Global Business Management from the Midrand Business Graduate Institute in 2013;* A National Diploma in Human Resource Management, Cum Laude from VUT in 2016; and* Baccalaureus Technologiae in Human Resources Management, Cum Laude in 2017.

He was part of the VUT Football team that qualified for the Varsity Cup in 2015 and is now doing his internship at VUT with DIT, which relates to VUT Sport's mission of being ''committed to an exciting, enriching and empowering out-of-class living and learning experience that contributes towards healthy and well-adjusted members of society''.
