Excitement is mounting as the Vaal University of Technology (VUT) is gearing up to showcase the latest modern, state-of-the-art, cutting-edge technology at this year's Rand Show, to be held at Johannesburg Expo Centre in Nasrec from 25 March to 3 April 2016. This first-time initiative by VUT aims to show that modern science and technology can be vibrant, interesting and appealing to the youth as well as industry, which will feature an array of mind-blowing scientific life experiments.
Visitors to the VUT stand will encounter interactive live demonstrations from our four leading faculties and the Science Park that would keep them spellbound. This event will kick-start a series of VUT's 50th anniversary celebrations that will include a variety of products and services offered by VUT through its Science and Technology Park.
The expo will feature current machinery such as the additive manufacturing digital printers (commonly referred to as 3D printers) and other new technology offering endless possibilities for industrial applications.
VUT Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Professor Irene Moutlana, said: "This is an important milestone in the history of VUT and our presence at the Rand Show 2016 will have a positive impact on visitors to the exhibition stand. Our technological advancement as a leading institute of higher learning has the capability and modern innovation that has already produced some of the best artisans for the South African industry."
There will also be actual prototypes that will be applicable to various industries, converting ideas into real tangible products from the smallest key-ring to some of the most exciting modern innovations of our time, such as drones.
Come and experience an opportunity of a lifetime and share the excitement with us.
