Academic activities resume at VUT
Management of VUT and student organisations engaged in a meeting on Sunday 22 May 2016 and an agreement reached was that academic activities will resume with effect from Wednesday 25 May 2016.
This unanimous decision brings normality and stability to the institution after it was closed due to disruptions and malicious damage to property.
The joint agreement contains the following terms:
* Students will be allowed back at residences from Tuesday, 24 May 2016. * Academic activities will resume on Wednesday, 25 May 2016. * An academic recovery plan will be in place to enable students to prepare themselves for the forthcoming examinations. * Examinations will start on Friday, 3 June 2016. * Students committed to full compliance with the conditions as contained in the high court interdict. * Investigation into acts of misconduct will continue unhindered and any students found to have been involved will be disciplined accordingly.
